People and space 7

People and Space is a series of photographs that explore public space; the series questions not only how people use public space but also the types of space available. Everyday, all over the world, people interact with public space in the form of: enclosed shopping malls, underground railway stations, footpaths, streets and parks. When people use these spaces they create an ever-changing scene and a variety of emotions such as: love, harmony, boredom, loneliness and frustration are revealed. This series of photographs also questions behaviour that often goes unnoticed, such as the tension shown by strangers occupying the same space and the closeness and familiarity of lovers and families. These photographs were taken in a variety of locations ranging from shopping centres, here in the UK, to the streets of Paris.
