Carnival Portraits & Steet Scenes
The Carnival in Handsworth, Bimingham was a wonderful occasion, full of music, dancing and good spirits. This set of pictures accompanies the set of impressions of the carnival and shows many of the people who made it such a success. Some of the scenes show the groups preparing just before the procession started, including the ones which look like studio portraits - these were actually shot in a marquee and the backgrounds were removed in Photoshop.
The organisation of the event deserves a mention, this was brilliantly done with friendly stewards at all the key points. Everything ran perfectly (or so it appeared to me) and that only happens with a lot of hard work before and during the event.
